Built as a passion project, PupillagePulse exists to support applicants at every stage of their journey, offering accessible, centralised, and live pupillage information for the next generation of barristers.
About the Founder
PupillagePulse was founded by Jared Higgins, a UK-trained barrister and legal researcher focused on improving transparency and accessibility within the pupillage application process.
Jared completed the Barrister Training Course with Distinction and holds a First-Class LLB in Law with International Relations from the University of Sussex. His work combines legal analysis, policy research, and digital publishing, with a particular interest in how data and technology can make professional pathways more transparent and meritocratic.
His research on privacy law and digital regulation has been presented at the British Conference of Undergraduate Research at the London School of Economics, and his academic writing has been published in peer-reviewed legal scholarship.
Prior to practice, Jared gained experience across legal, policy, and research environments, including parliamentary work experience, legal internships, and research roles examining issues ranging from civil procedure to cyber-security and digital regulation. These experiences inform PupillagePulse’s editorial approach: combining reliable data, independent analysis, and practical insight into the realities of Bar careers.
